Nach Giordano Bruno, 1988

Die Arbeiten der Werkgruppe „Nach Giordano Bruno“ und „Hot Little Mama“ entstanden als Sinnbilder, bzw. als ‚Sonogramme epochalen Denkens‘ zu den naturphilosophischen Entwürfen und zum erkenntnistheoretischen Denken in Mittelalter und Neuzeit, bspw. der „ars magna Lulli“ des Raimund Lullus und deren Wiederaufnahme u. a. bei Giordano Bruno in dessen Schrift „Von den Schatten der Ideen“. In einer winzigen Scherbe kann sich das Universum genauso spiegeln wie in der Oberfläche eines Moorsees in Worpswede.

The works in the “Nach / After Giordano Bruno” and “Hot Little Mama” work groups were created as allegories, or respectively as ‘sonograms of epochal thinking’ on the natural philosophical designs and epistemological thinking in the Middle Ages and Modern Age, for example the “ars magna Lulli” of Raimund Lullus and its resumption, among others, in Giordano Bruno, in the latter’s text “On the Shadows of Ideas”. The universe can be reflected in a tiny shard of glass equally as effectively as in the surface of a marshland lake in Worpswede.
