Conil, 2003-2008

Im Wasser und aus dem Wasser heraus entstand die Werkgruppe „Conil“, die das Wasser als Volumen, Stoff, Körper und Oberfläche auffasst. Die Serie zeigt das Wasser aus größter Nähe. Statt Übersicht, Leere, Ferne und Weite der See bestimmt eine Unmittelbarkeit und Vertikalität die Bilder, welche die See ‚in Stücken’ zwischen Gestalt und Abstraktion verankern.

„Conil“ wurde mit einer wasserfesten Kamera und einem speziellen, lichtempfindlichen Schwarzweiß-Film fotografiert. Anschließend wurden die Aufnahmen digitalisiert und koloriert.

The “Conil” group of works arose in the water and out of the water; it conceives of water as volume, substance, body and surface. The series shows water in maximum proximity. Instead of overview, void, distance and expanse of the sea, the images are defined by an immediacy and verticality that anchor the sea ‘in snatches’ between shape and abstraction.
“Conil” was photographed using a waterproof camera and a special, light-sensitive black-and-white film. Finally, the shots were digitised and coloured.
